I was among many 1,000’s arriving at a pre-dawn hour on August 29th for the launch window starting at 8:30 and open for 2 hours. The launch was ultimately scrubbed because of a hydrogen leak in one of the massive engines.
Naturally I was disappointed it did not launch, but decided to make the most of my short holiday on the east coast of Florida. I met some lovely people and visited some beautiful places including a climb to the top of the Ponce de Leon Inlet lighthouse and a nighttime kayak trip on the Indian River.
In life, it is certainly easy to dwell on disappointments when things we hoped for fail to launch. It’s possible we are being protected from something or there is a lesson to learn or something else. We won’t always know the reason why something failed or did not go as planned, but we can rely on the God-breathed word in scripture to carry us through.
Is there something that has disappointed you lately? I’m sorry you are dealing with it but I want to leave you with this scripture from Lamentations 3:21-23 –
“Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness!”

Get Involved with Our Ministries
One of the most important ways to get connected at The Church of the Cross is to first become a member of our congregation. If you are not a member and you are interested in learning more about membership, please call the Parish Office (843.757.2661) and speak to Sue.
Membership begins with an informal meeting with clergy. The next step in getting connected would be joining a Bible Study or small group to be in community with other Believers.
