The New Year is a natural time to reflect on what one wants to change in his or her life. As you make your resolutions to lose a couple of pounds, eat better, or exercise more, ask the Lord what spiritual resolutions He wants you to make this year. Perhaps He is calling you to read through the Bible in a year, spend more time in prayer, or volunteer in a new place.
I remember as 2020 closed, the world anxiously awaited the arrival of 2021. “Surely 2021 will be better than 2020!” Unfortunately, many of the challenges caused by COVID have persisted. 2021 was still a year of sacrifice, obstacles, and loss.
As we look forward to 2022, we wrestle with the mystery of the future. We are not promised that tomorrow will be better than today, but Scripture does promise that God will be with us. Joshua reminded the Israelites of this reality in Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Let’s look forward with anticipation to the New Year, and trust God to sustain us whatever 2022 will bring.
Two great resources for reading scripture and praying more regularly this year are The Bible App and Daily Office 2019.

Get Involved with Our Ministries
One of the most important ways to get connected at The Church of the Cross is to first become a member of our congregation. If you are not a member and you are interested in learning more about membership, please call the Parish Office (843.757.2661) and speak to Sue.
Membership begins with an informal meeting with clergy. The next step in getting connected would be joining a Bible Study or small group to be in community with other Believers.
