I just love it. My Lord always speaking to me in such different ways, but always touching my being, reaching my soul with His word of comfort. Someone has anchored their boat out in the middle of the waters right as you come over the bridge to the island. I see it every day. A little blue boat, with age, that has influenced lots of conversations with the locals, as to its reason for being there. I see it daily as I cross the bridge, and I enjoy its presence for whatever reason, but this morning as I meditate on God’s word, it creates further meaning as I am facing yet another challenge of growing older, with approaching knee replacement surgery. I clearly see God’s words as the anchor to my soul- so clear and comforting.

Without fear for the week ahead, I will stand firm (after surgery, of course!) and be secure that my days are as He’s planned. During my hardship, to welcome this difficulty, with thanksgiving and endurance, so it can be transformed into something lovely (my restored health). Oh, the beauty and comfort of relying on our Father in these unknown chartered waters for me; to know that He is at my side…as our anchor, never letting us get too far away, and always pulling us back to Him, if only we’ll anchor our lives with His Word. What a provision; what a promise; what a stronghold of comfort…as we flow and abide in the living waters of life.

Living with Him as my anchor every day, makes such a divine difference. I face tomorrow with renewed strength and courage, knowing I am firm and secure anchored with Him. I’ll walk courageously into that hospital, with my heart and soul planted fully in Him, and go through the days ahead anchored in His word for a smooth recovery.

What are your challenges in life? Are your difficulties drawing you closer to Him? Are we allowing Him to anchor our souls with peace and comfort? Are we standing firm in our faith as we tread the unknown waters in life? His living water makes all the difference!

Get Involved with Our Ministries

One of the most important ways to get connected at The Church of the Cross is to first become a member of our congregation. If you are not a member and you are interested in learning more about membership, please call the Parish Office (843.757.2661) and speak to Sue.

Membership begins with an informal meeting with clergy. The next step in getting connected would be joining a Bible Study or small group to be in community with other Believers.

Pray

Want us to pray for someone in need? Submit a prayer request (with their permission) and your prayer will be communicated with our clergy, Church staff, and Intercessory Prayer Team volunteers.

The person will remain on the prayer list for four weeks or until the office is notified otherwise.

Give

Everything we own and everything we have comes from God. So, when we give, we simply offer him a small portion of the abundance he has already given to us.

Giving is an expression of our thankfulness and praise to God, and there are various ways to give at The Church of the Cross.
