I say “appears” because what is presently true in the Lowcountry of South Carolina is not the reality in other parts of the country; and, given that this area is a mecca for tourists, what goes around elsewhere could come around here.

That said, given no major surge in numbers, I believe crossing the required-mask-wearing-threshold this past weekend was a major first step toward eliminating the barriers to personal interaction that have cramped so many of our ministry endeavors this past year. I expect the need for social distancing and preregistering for services will be discarded in time . . . but we’re not there yet – we’ll open that door and others as soon as it is safely possible.

Meanwhile, we’ll take a step at a time, allowing folks to adjust to each change made as conditions improve. Some may think the pace too slow; others may think the pace too fast; but, given our online options, everyone should find a level of comfort. In my mind, I’m thinking that Father’s Day, June 20^th, may well be significant for all. May it be so, Lord; may it be so!
